About us

SRM is a Research Center for Economic Studies related to Intesa Sanpaolo Banking Group and also supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. Specialising in the analysis of production and tourism chains as well as in the port-logistics and energy sectors, SRM is based in Naples and conducts its studies through a Euro-Mediterranean lens.

SRM operates following three research strands: a Focus on Business and Southern Italy with analyses of economic and social scenarios as well as interdependency and internationalisation processes of local territories; Maritime Economy paying special attention to the dynamics of national and international port infrastructures, shipping and logistics; Energy & Med where the main focus is on the evolution of the energy sector and the challenges of sustainability.

With its southern regions at the forefront, Italy plays a natural role as an economic and logistic bridge between Europe and the Southern shore of the Mediterranean. It can boast of being at the centre of great trade routes between Asia and America and is also a strategic player in energy transition.

This website contains research papers, magazines and journals, annual reports in both Italian and English elaborated in collaboration with renowned national and international research centres, professional associations and universities.
