2024. Data, impacts and trends of tourism in Campania. The role of the city of Naples

Campania tourism, and in particular Neapolitan tourism, is well positioned in the European context but also has room for improvement. For 2024, the basic scenario envisages that the current situation will be maintained, both for Italy and for the South. A positive 2024 is also hypothesized for Campania, again driven by international tourism, net of any worsening of the international geoeconomic and geopolitical scenarios.
The new scenario highlights a consolidation of the recovery of tourism but with strong attention to new development drivers. In particular, it will be important for companies to invest in "ESG and digital" objectives, focus on training and skills, which are increasingly central to managing competitive transformations, as well as achieving adequate sizing. No less important are, on the one hand, territorial policies that take into account the capacity of the attractive tourist system of Campania and the city of Naples and, on the other, the activation of synergistic management policies of public governance to make the a city increasingly ready to manage flows, avoiding poor growth sustainability, to promote the maximum socio-economic impact on the territory.
