Our ‘Saggi’ (Essays) represent a spin-off of the collection ‘Un Sud che innova e produce’ and are aimed at highlighting strengths and weaknesses of the economic and productive fabric in Southern Italy (Mezzogiorno) at Italian and international level. These Essays therefore fall within the scope of a long-standing research strand which SRM intends to use for outlining a series of features of the Mezzogiorno area, namely the competitive framework, the economic-structural situation, the innovative and organizational evolution of the production system, interregional connections, as well as processes of internationalization and technological transformation.
