SRM is participating in the GRINS project, an extended partnership funded by the NRRP. In line with the general thrust of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), the GRINS partnership produces frontier research in the economic-political-social science and data science spectrum to provide evidence to guide public policy as well as citizen and business choices in complex decision-making contexts, contributing to a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable country growth.
At the heart of the GRINS project is the design, development and procurement of the open data platform called AMELIA, a high-tech tool that will first enable the statistical analysis, and then the transfer of knowledge to system actors, of many of Italy's socioeconomic, environmental, health and financial dynamics, both locally and nationally.
In particular, SRM is involved in Spoke 7, which focuses on understanding and promoting territorial resilience and sustainability understood in a broad sense (environmental, socio-economic, etc.) in different territorial settings. This approach is based on the idea that "hard and tangible" factors (such as physical and digital infrastructures and related funding sources) interact with "soft and intangible" factors (such as social cohesion and inclusion, environment, mobility, business capacity, cultural and tourism heritage, etc.) to influence the ability of territories to face challenges and thrive in the long run.
